In the spirit of celebration and transdisciplinarity, this issue’s featured artist is our art and web editor Claudia Jacques, a Brazilian-American interdisciplinary
technoetic artist, designer, educator and researcher. Jacques holds an MFA in Computer Art, School of Visual Arts, NY, USA, and is currently a PhD candidate
(ABD) at the Planetary Collegium, CAiiA Hub, School of Art & Media, University of Plymouth, UK. She also serves as associate director of UCLA’s ArtSci Center.
Jacques’s artistic practice intersects art, technology and science to develop composites and interactive hybrid art that interrogate perceptions of space-time, digital-physical, sublime-mundane, virtual-real. She exhibits and presents both nationally and internationally and has published in Leonardo, TEKs, Art & Engine, and so forth. She teaches 2D Design, User Interface Design, Typographic Design and Photography. Her studio is in Ossining, NY.
