- Featured Artist
New York based artist and educator Erika Mahr, MFA, is this issue’s featured artist. Intersecting drawing, painting, sculpture and design her series Erasures,
highlighted in this issue, reflects her fluidity with form. As with the topic of this issue,
Mahr’s control of contrasts in values, shapes, textures, lines, and materials offers differences that make differentiations, and yet her work departs from formal aesthetic dualism by engaging the viewer in a lyrical exchange about the potentiality of space.
A New York Foundation of the Arts Grant Recipient, Mahr has exhibited her artworks in solo and collective shows across the United States. She is an assistant professor at
Westchester Community College, SUNY in Valhalla, NY teaching drawing, painting and design.
